The purpose of a Baby Blessing or Christening is to consciously sanctify the entrance of a soul into the world. It is to give thanks for the miracle of new life. It is to support new parents in stepping into the role of parenthood consciously, with love and clarity. It is to acknowledge the sacred role of others in this new generation, offering love, acceptance and wisdom. And mostly, to honor the interconnectiveness of the child with the larger community, and even with all of creation.
